I felt more creative, more inspired.
I released my first round of art prints with shots from Iceland in collaboration with my incredible pal and co-conspirator, Jen Cook.
They flew off the studio shelves.
More chipboard cards joined the roster with designs alongside the Valentine's Day line-up.
Fans scooped them up.
The iron was hot and as an artist, you live for those seasons.
Those days and weeks when you know you're onto something. Those days and weeks when there’s a glorious glow around your desk while all your engines are firing.
My friend Elyse shot some snaps of me in my studio (i.e. my apartment), which was starting to feel more and more like my grand boiler room instead of a desk I may or may not get to. It was all starting to feel so much more real and legit.
All the collected hours spent in a morning rhythm with Jesus were also bleeding out into my days and I could feel it.
I felt affirmation pour around my feet like cement as He encouraged me to write more, create more, ask more, be more.
But then I went back to Vancouver.
To be continued...
Why 12 for Toronto?
I want anyone, from a first-time tourist to the seasoned city veteran, to wander through our shops and have their eyes hook on a colourful film photograph taken from right here in our neighbourhoods.
To be able to pen a simple note to someone, not on outdated souvenir paper, but on a meaningful alternative they can send not only from them, but from this diverse, beautiful, commanding beast of a city.
I want these notes to go around the world.
For pieces of Toronto to land everywhere to exclaim the goodness and pride we have in our home.
EACH CARD IS AVAILABLE TODAY, WITH A BOXED SET OF ALL 12 AVAILABLE AT THE END OF THE SERIES ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 28!
